Digging Through The Cereal Box - When my sister and I were kids, we would alway try and be the first to open the cereal box to retrieve the toy at the bottom of the box. This would cause many arguments. My mom would eventually get us our own box of cereal to prevent the bickering. I also talk about playing with my dad in the rain. I have more than a few amazing memories of my dad and I playing in the rain. We are true Pacific Northwesterners. In that rain or shine, we will tread on.

Lyrics

Digging Through The Cereal Box By: Howie Askay

Once in a lifetime you can finally stop the clock
So take a moment and reflect on what it takes to wake you up
Bend your head, you might just miss that
Cupboard door and rest a nerve

A lifetimes used to last until you made the gate
So open the door and then you find out that it might just be to late
To make amends you hold it in to find out
You were all wrong

(Chorus) Searching through a moment, I find a simple thought
Digging for the prize with my hands all dirty and sticky
In the bottom of the cereal box

Back to back we try and look for something new
And reminisce that feeling you get before you found out that you grew
That early morning Christmas gift was all I needed
To feel alive

(Chorus)

(Bridge) Wait a minute I totally forgot
Playing with my dad in the rain until we got caught
Mom says come in boys before you catch cold

Shake and light your soul and burn it to the ground
Every hour is a stage that you can use what you have found
A piece of pie is just one of eight and now and then
You can save them all

(Chorus)
