A Child Never Dies - I wrote this back in junior high school. I always thought it was kind of sappy, but as I got older and a bit wiser it kind took on a deeper meaning. It’s universal toward either male, female or creature. Love is love and it fits wherever it is directed.

Lyrics

A CHILD NEVER DIES By: Howie Askay

Through endless years and empty seasons
The time still. Passes by
Yet the friendship that I found in you
I’m sure will never die

The memories my heart’s still keeping
The teardrops in your eyes
Reminds me of our days of youth
The time we left behind

(Chorus) The warmth you always gave me
A companion by my side
On the day our paths were one no more
A man broke down and cried

The days of old, the days of passion
And youth we kept alive
Are fading to a silent end
It makes me realize

At times I thought I’d find you
In a futile wishful dream
But you were nowhere to be seen

With shattered dreams and a broken promise
I can’t start love anew
And since this pain won’t heal with time
I’m waiting here for you

(Chorus) A child never dies
