The Distance - I chose to record this song towards the end of this project. It kept bouncing around my mind that it would be fun to put an upbeat, punk’ish style song on the album. This was written by my loyal long time friend Paul Watts with a little help from me. Pauls lyrics have a timeless way to say “I miss you.” We’ve recorded this song a few times through the years, but never a low production version that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles. I love how simple this song has always remained and how acoustically it forces the listener to focus on the story.
